Yes, they’re awful, but wheels are one of the easiest things on a car to change. Swap the wheels and I’d love it (though I think it has some extraneous chrome trim, unlike the bottom pic where some trim was removed?)

EDIT - oh and I’d ditch that stupid step while I’m at it.

For the low low sum of $15,000 you can buy it and undo these atrocities ... $15k is crack pipe for a non-final-edition SJ, though. This one’s a less-desirable ‘82 model.

Maybe it was just the stupid wheels and the chrome step, but it seemed like the top one was more chromy than the Grand Wagoneers I occasionally see around. Apparently not, though - Googling shows those did have chrome around all the window frames.
